Ermine Boswell deGraffenried (also listed as Ermina Boswell deGraffenried)
BIRTH ABT. 1790 • Lunenburg County, Virginia, USA
DEATH ABT. 1813 • Hale County, Alabama, USA
Married on 22 Feb 1812 Lunenburg, Virginia to John M. Hobson of Greensboro, Alabama, her cousin. He was the son of Nicholas Gordon Hobson 1746–1809 and Sarah R DeGraffenreid 1755–1809.
They had one child who survived:
Mary Ann Degraffenried Hobson, b 1813, d 10 Jul 1877, who married Charles H. DuPont (who died 14 Oct 1877) of Quincy, Florida,

He had taken up a plantation in 1827. He was a prominent figure in Gadsden County, Florida; serving for 15 years on the Florida Supreme Court, with 9 of them as chief justice. He was a general in the militia and a confederate defender of the State Capitol. He also served as Gadsden County’s first state senator. He became despondent after the death of his wife and died himself a few months later (getting sick while in Minnesota and traveling home where he died.) It is not known where they are buried but probably either in the grounds of their old Alsace plantation or in the “Western Cemetery” in Quincy Florida in the Malone or Towers plots (his mother’s by her 2nd marriage), no stones if so. An obituary states that the service for C. H. Dupont was at the Methodist Episcopal at Quincy and that he was laid to rest next to his wife in “the cemetery”. I would guess they are in the “Towers plots” at the Western Cemetery in town; however it is odd there are no stones for such a prominent man and his wife. The church the funeral was held in for C. H. Dupont is now known as the Centenary Methodist Church.
